By September 13, 2022 Microgrant
At Verity, part of our mission is building vibrant communities, and one way we do that is through our microgrant program. These small grants are available for projects that advance community wellbeing in the Greater Seattle area. Applications are accepted year round and grants are awarded twice yearly. We recently selected our spring 2022 microgrant recipients and are excited to share about each project and organization as part of our new microgrant series.
Our fifth highlighted recipient is Sustainable Seattle. Sustainable Seattle works to build a thriving future through initiatives that deliver environmental, economic and community benefits, promote equity, and build resilience.
Sustainable Seattle both serves and is composed of a network of 27 environmental justice organizers representing a cross-section of sustainability priorities. Rather than many competing, under-funded organizations working on their own, Sustainable Seattle’s network exists so that organizations with complementary skills and visions for community-based sustainability can come together to increase funding, network, align, and provide equitable pay to BIPOC and frontline sustainability experts. Together, they work to flatten the climate curve, and establish a mutually reinforcing movement towards a thriving, regenerative, and just Puget Sound region.
