Below are some “do not’s” when it comes to using Zelle®.
- Refunds are not issued through Zelle®. If somebody calls you and offers refunds via Zelle®, hang up the phone and call us directly.
- Verity will never call you to request information you received via text (SMS).
- Don’t provide your account number or personal information by email or text. If you are needing to email with us about your accounts, please send a secure message via Digital Banking.
- Don’t trust caller ID; Caller ID may be modified to show Verity’s name.
- Don’t feel pressured to provide information immediately in response to requests via text, email or phone. If you’re unsure about the message, reach out to us directly to confirm the request is legitimate.
- Don’t give information over the phone if you receive a call stating that a transaction is canceled, even if the caller claims to be from Verity. Once again, contact us directly to inquire about the transition.
- Don’t click on links in unsolicited emails or texts.
- Don’t give an unsolicited caller remote access to your computer.
These are just a few ways to keep yourself safe when using the Zelle® to send money. If you have any questions or think you have fallen into a scam, please contact us at (206) 440-9000, send us a secure message in Digital Banking, or reach out via our online Chat.
