In honor of Black History Month, we would like to celebrate the work of Empowering Youth and Families Outreach, with whom Verity has partnered since 2019.
Empowering Youth and Families Outreach (EYFO) is a 501c3 organization that was birthed as a response to the increased obstacles faced by one of the most vulnerable populations in society: children, particularly youth of color. Their mission is to "make a lifelong impact in the lives of underprivileged youth by offering multifaceted programming that raises up resilient leaders who are empowered to achieve their dreams."
EYFO's programs provide year-round extracurricular activities, classes, trips, and other enrichment programming to students in the Holly Park neighborhood of Seattle. Their programs range in age groups from preschool through twelfth grade. Of the students enrolled at EYFO, 98% graduate from high school and go on earn a college degree.
Verity Credit Union has partnered with Empowering Youth and Families Outreach to create extracurricular financial education classes for their students. We love the passion exhibited by the organizers and are honored to be a part of their ongoing story. Thank you for everything you do, EYFO!
