Verity Credit Union’s Microgrant is designed to provide $5000 in general operating support for nonprofit organizations whose work benefits historically underserved communities within Washington State.
We aim to support nonprofit organizations that may have limited access to traditional funding due to organizational size, age, or tax-exemption status. We strive to uplift and empower those doing the work of our community. Our grant is designed to prioritize the following nonprofit organizations (orgs):
- Orgs whose work explicitly supports Black, Indigenous, and POC communities.
- Orgs founded and led by members of historically marginalized communities and/or those with marginalized lived experiences.
- Orgs with a total asset size of less than $250,000.
- Orgs whose work furthers social justice, environmental justice, equity, and/or financial wellness for all.
The deadline for Fall 2023 are due September 29th, 2023. Applications received after this date will be considered during Spring 2024.
"Most of the time grants are tied to a program...It is something our community has been asking for, and now we can give it to them...and allow them to start their own library" - SKCDC, 2023 Microgrant Recipient
Unrestricted and Open to All
One of the many ways we support nonprofits in the Greater Seattle area is through our Microgrant Program. We are always looking for ways to further stay involved in our communities and this year, 2023, we have made some big improvements to the program. The biggest improvement is that the grants are now unrestricted. Before, microgrants were limited to projects and events but now the money from our grant may be used for any purpose. For more details, read the program description document.
