Paying back your friends and family has gotten even easier with Popmoney, a digital payment method that allows you to transfer money to people without needing to know their account information. All you need is access to Online Branch or Mobile Banking and know the other person's email or phone number. The person you're transferring to doesn't even need to be a Verity member.

You can find Popmoney in your Online Branch or Mobile Banking app under the "Transfer Funds" section. Standard transfers through Popmoney are free and take up to 3 business days; you can expedite the payment for a small fee. You can also request money from someone using Popmoney, but know there is a small fee for this service.

Need help using Popmoney? Please use our online chat service or call us at (800) 444-4589 or (206) 440-9000. You can also watch our Online Branch tutorial video—just click on the "Popmoney" section for a guided walk-through.

As of September 2017, certain electronic payments may post to member accounts the same day they are made, a change made nationally in an effort to keep up with demands for better real-time finance tracking.

The types of electronic debit payments affected by this change are commonly known as Direct Payment, Direct Debit, ACH Debit, Electronic Check or e-Check, or other similar terms. For example, payments made through Bill Pay fall in to this category. These transactions are different from debit card payments or ATM transactions—they use your account number instead of a card for payment.

Many merchants and billing companies offer you the option to make a same-day electronic payment, such as to pay a bill or to transfer funds. If you agree, then the funds might be debited from your account as soon as that very same day. While these types of payments won't be reflected in your account balance as quickly as debit card and ATM transactions, you will have access to more accurate information about your actual available account balance more frequently throughout the business day.
