Protecting our members, employees and the community from the spread of the COVID-19 virus is critically important. At Verity, we are closely monitoring the current situation and following recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and local authorities.

The information below is intended to help our community navigate this unprecedented situation. Please check back for updated community resources and information about Verity operations. We are all in this together.

  • If you are experiencing any financial hardships due to the current emergency, please reach out for assistance at (206) 440-9000 or (800) 444-4589.
  • Verity members with loans may be eligible to skip their next payment, for free (Verity is waiving the usual fee during the pandemic crisis). You are only allowed to do so once every rolling 12 month period. To find out if you have an eligible loan and to submit your request, log in to Digital Banking and select the "Skip Loan Payment" option under the "Services" menu. You can also contact us at (206) 440-9000 or (800) 444-4589. Please note we are unable to skip payments on mortgages, lines of credit, or CD-secured loans.
  • Fees are being waived for outgoing wire transfers and skipping a loan payment one time.
  • Financial coaching is available for members wanting to talk to an expert about how to navigate the current economic impacts.

We know people are experiencing significant financial challenges. To help cover immediate expenses, Verity is offering the Emergency Assistance Loan.

  • Borrow up to $2,500
  • 2.99% Annual Percentage Rate for the life of the loan
  • No payments for up to 90 days

You are able to use the funds for any of your essential needs, from groceries to housing to bills to health care items. Members are allowed one Emergency Assistance Loan at a time, with a maximum term of 36 months. And if your situation improves quickly and you no longer need financial assistance, we will not charge interest if the loan is paid back in full within 30 days of funding.*

Applying is easy—submit an application online or over the phone at (206) 440-9000 or (800) 444-4589.

We invite members with mortgages at Verity or Credit Union Home Mortgage Solutions (CUHMS) to reach out to us to discuss available options. Every situation is different, but relief is available for members who have been negatively financially impacted by the pandemic crisis. Please call us at (206) 440-9000 or (800) 444-4589 as soon as you know you will need financial assistance.

If your unemployment claim has been delayed, please reach out to us as soon as possible to discuss ways we can help.

The FBI is reporting an uptick in the number of fraud schemes related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Verity will NEVER call, email or text you and ask for your digital banking login information, debit card number, credit card number or PIN. Fraudsters are taking advantage of the current crisis. Never give this information to someone who calls, emails or texts you. If you are unsure of whether a message you are receiving is legitimate, please reach out to us at (800) 444-4589 or (206) 440-9000.

The FBI advises people to be on the lookout for the following:

  • Fake CDC emails: Watch out for emails claiming to be from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) or organizations claiming to offer information about the virus. Do not click on any links or attachments you do not recognize. Also, be wary of websites and apps claiming to track COVID-19 cases worldwide.
  • Phishing emails: Emails asking you to verify personal information in order to receive an economic stimulus check are likely fake and looking to steal your personal information. Government agencies are not sending unsolicited emails seeking private information in order to send you money. Phishing emails may also claim to be related to charitable contributions, general financial relief, airline carrier refunds, fake cures/vaccines, and fake testing kits.
  • Counterfeit treatments or equipment: Be cautious of anyone selling products that claim to prevent, treat, diagnose, or cure COVID-19. Also be aware of counterfeit products for sanitizing and personal protective equipment.

*Emergency Assistance Loan interest is waived if the loan is paid back in full and closed within 30 days of funding, without any refinancing or modifications to the loan.
