  • Incentives: Every position--even those that are part-time--can earn incentive pay linked to achieving our strategic goals. We reward performance and results.
  • Recognition: Outstanding individuals and teams recognition at our quarterly breakfast. Employees have the opportunity to recognize their peers on a monthly basis.

  • Medical: Verity is pleased to be part of the First Choice Health Network, an extensive provider network covering the greater Puget Sound area. Verity subsidizes the cost for employees and their families including domestic partners, resulting in a rich plan at a reasonable cost.
  • Dental & Vision: Direct reimbursement plans for dental and vision enable employees to choose any provider or practitioner and avoid waiting for reimbursement from insurance companies. The plan is easy to understand, includes all procedures excluding cosmetics, and includes domestic partners.
  • Flexible Spending Accounts: Employees can contribute pre-tax pay towards an account to pay for health and dependent care. It can mean tax savings of 20% to 40% on the associated costs and is a great compliment to our medical, dental, and vision plans.

BENEFITS: FINANCIAL PLANNING

  • 401(k): We offer a 3% matching contribution to each employee's 401(k) fund. The employer match is 100% vested, providing higher interest-earning potential on funds. Employees are eligible to participate after 90 days of full-time employment.
  • Roth 401(k): Verity's Roth 401(k) is identical to our traditional 401(k) program except that contributions are made using after-tax dollars. Qualified future distributions are tax-free.
  • Investment Services: The complimentary services that Verity provides to our members are also available to employees. These include individual consultations on home buying, paying for education, and saving for retirement. Our investment advisors are licensed, insured, and focused on the needs of individuals rather than selling specific products.

  • Challenge: As a not-for-profit financial institution, we have distinctive challenges and opportunities. Employees take pride in finding solutions that serve members while enabling the organization to remain competitive.
  • Autonomy: Verity is a fairly "flat" organization, lacking the multiple levels of management and bureaucracy that characterize larger financial institutions. We embrace collaboration and mutual trust in the service of our members and our unique culture.
  • Meaning: Our mission is to enhance members' lives through exceptional financial services, and we take it seriously. At every turn, we examine how we can make it easier for members to achieve their goals and dreams, and how we can enhance the communities we serve. When members face financial challenges, we do everything we can to help them through it. When they experience financial success, we help them get more of it. We really believe in what we do!
  • Mentoring: Through thoughtful performance evaluations, mentorship, and career planning, we promote the strengths of individual employees and help them take advantage of opportunities.

CONNECTION WITH EMPLOYER

  • Commitment to being a "best place": Verity strives to be one of the best places to work in Washington state, and all our decisions about the workplace are guided by this mission.
  • Work Environment: The doors of managers and executives are not only open at Verity--those individuals are expected to seek out the input and concerns of staff. We promote compassionate communication and foster connectedness throughout the credit union.
  • Trust: We trust one another and our members to make good decisions, and help each other do the right thing.
